Deep breath. After much internal debate about whether or not I wanted to even try to shoot a wedding, I started off 2009 with a bang and took the plunge! I was scared to death and never could have done it without one of my best friends, Lauren Kiser, shooting alongside me and some equipment on loan from fellow photog Jeff Holt I'm happy to say that I survived! I feel like thanks are also due indirectly to Sharon Clark since Lauren usually shoots with her, and well, Sharon's work is so dagum inspiring!
Saying buh-bye to my comfort zone (complete lack of natural light!) and the pressure to capture these once in a lifetime moments was a creative challenge for sure, but with so many beautiful details to capture it was fun to push myself and try to think a little differently. Can I please say again that Lauren was my saving grace? Okay, that just makes me feel better.
A huge thank you to Hannah Cockerill, the stunning bride, who believed in me to document her big day... and well, the whole family, wedding party! Below are a just a few highlight shots that I fell in love with as soon as I started editing (ahem, which is quite an undertaking when there are thousands of photos to sort through!). I hope that you enjoy, and although I'm still not sure about pursuing weddings 100% I think that with the right set of circumstances I might go for it again... more to come as I process all this!
