I gave a sneak peek from Tessa's session a few days back, but now that I'm back home and in the swing of things again I couldn't resist posting a few more highlights. Tessa's mom, Kari, is one of the most fabulous people and I LOVE that a few years back she and a friend started their own PR agency, INK. So, if you are in need of a PR agency - check 'em out.
Their little family lives in one of the coolest areas of Austin and of course their home was decorated in that fresh, vibrant and funky style to match the neighborhood. And I must confess, I'm hopeful about making another trip out to Austin to see some of these kiddos grow!

She is a Texas native, born and bred. He was a city boy, the Windy City, to be specific.
He wanted to experience a different kind of life in TX.
They were set up on a blind date.
6 months later, they knew it would be forever.
I was delighted and honored to capture their personalities and their relationship. We started out at the barn with Adam's horse, Mikey...
And back at the house in Dripping Springs, there was lots of puppy love with their dogs...
Meet Delilah, Elmo and Riley, and Bean. Precious.

I'm in love with my time here in TX and part of that equation was a shoot with little Leo this morning. He rocked out in a totally awesome "big boy" shirt and I must say that these just might be some of my favorite kid shots of all time. Seriously, he looks like a aspiring musician and I love it. We found this amazing location which made it easy for him to explore around and just do what little boys do... run, play, and get dirty.
I also just have to share that someone on the street declared my shoes to be "FIERCE" and that just about made my week! I'm also just having a ball hanging out at my cousin's house, which is perfectly ah-mazing, and her 4 boys. More photos to come of them and Ross arrives tomorrow... I can't hardly wait!

Think of your favorite place to visit as a kid.
Well, I'm back at one of my MOST favorite places... my aunt and uncle's house outside Houston, TX. Growing up I longed and dreamed and envisioned getting to come here. They have always had horses, cows and dogs... and that was enough to make me swear that I was born into the wrong family and I, in fact, belonged here rather than in North Carolina. They were so gracious to come let me stay for extended periods of time over Spring Break or during the summer and boy oh boy... I LIVED for it. My sweet uncle would let me just tag along with him in his big truck as we hauled horses around, worked cows, check out tractors. I remember riding from their house to their farm listening to 'Click and Clack' on NPR, and I was happy as a clam to just listen and take in the views of those huge Texas skies as we drove. I remember going to the grocery store with my aunt and getting loads of Blue Bell ice cream, which I proceeded to consume for breakfast lunch and dinner. All that to say, being back here floods me with sweet memories and I'm just drinking it all in.
I drive to Austin today to see more family and friends, and I've got some shoots lined up that I'm simply pumped about! On top of all that, Ross flies in on Thursday to come join in the party, and we will all be heading out to the Farm this weekend. Sigh, I couldn't be happier. God bless Texas.
Some snapshots from around the house and barn here on Pennridge Lane.

Ross and I celebrated Valentine's on Friday since I had the privilege of shooting alongside the gloriously delightful and fun Sharon Clark for a wedding on Saturday. Man, that girl is amazing! Fellow photographer Jen Hunt was also there, and it was just an unbelievable experience all around.
Make sure you see Sharon's whole slew of awesomeness from the day here, but here are a few fun tidbits that I caught from the sidelines...

Since today is my big edit day, I'm so excited to be sharing all these little gems from the Valentines Special this week! I'm getting super duper DUPER pumped about my trip to TEXAS! I have a few more goodies to share before I go, but next week I'll be writing to you from Houston and Austin, yeehaw.
Huge THANK YOU to all the families that I've worked with over the course of the week... its been amazing and I hope each of you are as excited about the images of your kiddos as I am!
